In a drizzly, muddy Sunday duel the Monograms beat Oregon City as errors in the second inning opened a path for runs. Johnson’s new short stop play helped, while Hoyt and Graham struggled on a slick mound. the ball rarely left the infield.

Godfried Boese a Damascus farmer aged 11, hanged himself from a fence rider Sunday night, apparently due to family troubles after a quarrel with his wife and son. A neighbor search found him. liquor in the house and coroner’s verdict cited intoxication as a contributing factor. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church and he was buried in Damascus cemetery.
Land values climb in Damascus County as investors from Portland and Kan sans test the market for farms along the new electric railway. Brokers report strong demand, with 40 acre farms offered around four thousand dollars and land near the road selling at higher prices. Borine gains post office status and is seen as a potential town as surrounding farms in Clackamas County attract buyers.
The Modern Woodmen of America plan an American style Fourth of July in Damascus. A parade will form and move to Morton's Park for an oration by a noted speaker, followed by field sports and games. A brass band will perform and lunch is expected on site, finishing with a grand ball at night.
George L. Story, prominent Oregon City Republican lawyer, appointed by Mayor Dimick as city attorney to fill the vacancy after Dresser's resignation. Born in Salem about forty years ago, he moved to Oregon City twelve years ago and studied law with Judge Gordon E. Hayes before being admitted to the bar.
The Harring Grange No. 122 P of H resolves to mourn the loss of member J A Brown. They commend his service as a faithful citizen and husband and father, extend sympathy to his family, and arrange for mourning charter drape for 30 days with copies sent to county papers.
