L Shank former road supervisor at Wilholt was arrested last Friday on a bench warrant issued by Judge Campbell. He is charged with forgery involving a December payroll entry for M A Ross amounting to $25. Ross’s supposed agent Shank discounted the warrant to John A Loder and procured a county clerk order. The county court learned the warrant was a rotten transaction leading to an indictment kept quiet until the arrest. Shank was arraigned and pleaded not guilty via dedimurer. trial likely in June with bond set at $200.
