Goat Riding Fraternities Oregon City Lodge 1.0 C. F. No. 2 elected Judge Thomas F. Ryan S Walker and W. L. Midlam as delegates to the Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows to meet in Portland on the 20th. Rebekah Lodge chose Mrs J J Cooke Mrs Midlam Mrs yada Thomas FP and Miss Anna Wilebart for the General Assembly May 20 in Portland. Knights of Pythias report a busy agenda and upcoming tasks.
James B Brown, age about 59, dies after a life in Oregon and Logan. Born June 6 1844 in McDonough Co La Kinoia he later settled at Logan and served as postmaster since 1893. Surviving heirs include wife Elizabeth Meubbin and four children Mia W Minturn Wm and F Brown. Funeral by Elder Rich and Masonic ceremonial burial.
The monthly church social will be held Friday evening May 15. A chicken dinner will be served in the Sunday school room for licents. All preachers barred.

The Upper Willamette and its tributaries will be stocked with chinook salmon via a new fishway around the falls in this city. Warden Van Dusen says a trench across a rocky island near the mill will allow salmon to bypass the falls. The project may cost about five thousand dollars though past attempts failed. Officials hope for a durable, clean design that preserves water quality for future generations.
