Joseph A. Boring died Thursday April 24 at his home in Boring at age 80. He founded the town of Boring on the Cazadero branch of the Portland Railway Light & Power Company. He is expected to be buried alongside early settlers.
On Tuesday May 34 Wagon City will vote on issuing 40000 dollars in bonds to build a central high school. The 12 room facility includes an assembly hall for 1000 students and construction would start soon after approval for fall occupancy.
Sunday morning saw a third game between Barbers and Printers. The Barbers won 10 to S as Printers, despite defeat, celebrated their performance. Lineups included Sherwood Sheahan Hammond Beard Miller Morality Mack Hickes Quinn Kenner Bray Miller Schram Hammond Sinnott Rakel Braendel Nobel H Board and Kelly in the outfield and infield positions.
State Sunday School Convention met in Portland April 26 27 28 with 450 delegates from 82 Oregon counties. Readers greetings from Inland Empire and California pleased attendees. J W Lewellyn Springwater and other Clackamas delegates participated amid emphasis on Vision Vigor and Victory. The report notes many pastors and business leaders, 65 superintendents and 14 pastors.
The Home Oil and Gas Company plans large scale development of Willamette Valley oil and gas resources near Stone, adjacent to Oregon City. A comprehensive machinery and boiler outfit has been loaded for shipment and will be installed at the Louis Vierhus place, enabling drilling to begin next week.
Mr and Mrs Emmons hosted guests from Detroit Michigan and Portland with social visits and a Milwaukee run by car. Grace Chapel members elected officers and hosted a large social and musical evening raising funds for the church.
A musical program will be held at Woodman hall under the Baptist Philathens who run a studentio training school in Chicago for missionary work. Directed by Mr and Mrs Leon De Larsen. Admission 25 cents, children 15 cents. Program to be announced in the Courter.
Despite bad weather a large crowd of parents and children attended the Macksburg teachers meeting in Clackamas county. Prof Freil discussed socialising public schools and A A Baldwin linked the county fair to school interests. Superintendent Gary explained the fund law as pupils performed well.
The death of FL. Mack occurred at his Mountain View home Saturday morning after weeks of illness. He came to Oregon in 1885, served in the Civil War, and is survived by his wife and five children: L. W. Mack, A. D. Mack, Wael Mack, M. B. Mack, L. R. Mack, and Alma Mack. Funeral services were held Monday at the family residence, with interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Reverend Blackwell led the rites.
An unsigned editorial argues Willamette Valley offers superior farming and fruit potential over Eastern Oregon. It warns against relocating, noting rich soils, irrigation needs, and timber, with Minnesota investments in eastern lands and a push for rapid settlement as railways expand.

George L Hutchin visits Oregon City to discuss a Rose Festival float. An executive Fourth of July committee of J W Cole E T Fields and O D Eby will create subcommittees for a large celebration plan.
An elderly man named Parsiful was found unconscious near the bridge to Barclay schoolhouse on Thursday. Night Officers Quake and Shaw assisted, and it was noted he suffered paralysis and fatal injuries from a fall. Funeral held Thursday at 2 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev S A Hayworth. interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Born in Kentucky in 1859, he lived in Oregon since 1870s. survived by siblings and a widow.
Partial program for the second annual Oregon Threshers Association convention held in Albany June 2 to 4 1910. The schedule includes registration reception opening remarks by William H Fletcher governor Frank Benson and other officials a banquet with Linn County officials and a focus on threshing industry topics and lectures.
