Immense Portland General Electric Power Plant Planned
The Portland General Electric Company plans a $2,000,000 power plant at Oregon City on the Willamette River Falls site. The project includes replacing the wooden dam with concrete, expanding in 29 sections to reach 60,000 HP at low flow and 40,000 HP at flood, with four 10,000 HP sections next year and further additions in subsequent years. The plant will operate about nine months yearly, with a North Portland steam plant covering the remainder, boosting total capacity to 88,000 HP when complete.
