Attempt to wreck car on Cazadero line thwarted

A heavy log rolled onto the Cazadero line near Nickum last Thursday morning but was stopped by alert motorman Elvin Schmidt and conductor Huntington who applied brakes and cleared the track. The 9 foot log weighed over 100 pounds and could not have been moved by boys. motive remains unknown as passengers remained shaken by the scare.

Death of James Munro of Oswego After 63 Years

James Munro died at his Oswego home after stomach trouble at age 63. Born in Scotland, he came to this country in 1800 and lived in Oswego since. He leaves wife, a son David, and daughters Margaret and Catherine. Funeral 2:30 p.m. at the family residence with Rev Moore of Cleckamas. Oswego lodge members of IOOF attended.

A former Barclay High School senior class of 1907 editor in chief, he rose from local National Guard to corporal and company clerk, earning recognition as a first class gamer. Oregon City Woman Dies Widely Known Resident

Mariana Graham died Saturday morning in Oregon City. She was born in Nova Scotia and lived as a longtime Baptist. Survived by three sons Arthur W Alden B and J Newton of Portland and three daughters Mrs George Fox Mrs Arde Morrill of Portland and Mrs William Andresen of Oregon City, plus two sisters and a brother in the East. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 pm at the family residence with Rev J M Linden of the Baptist church officiating and burial in Mountain View Cemetery.

Will Lectures on Philippines by Manila Missionary

After a period of illness Mrs. Mariana Graham, wife of Captain J M Graham of the Oregon City Transportation Company, dies at age 76 in Oregon City. Irving Hart, manager of the Methodist Publishing House in Manila, will lecture at the local Methodist Church on the Philippines past present and future from a missionary standpoint with Filipino curiosities displayed.
