Narrow escape as team overturns on Holcomb road

Mrs M C Sole and Mrs William Anderson narrowly escape death when a spirited team plunges near the Portland Plouring mill, the wagon overturning and Miss Sole thrown under it while Miss Anderson is dragged by the reins as bystanders rush to aid.

Runaway Team Halts on Main Street Injures Two Women

A runaway team on Main Street halted near the flouring mill where two women were assisted into the office. Both sustained bruises with Mrs. Sole suffering a badly crushed right arm. The wagon and team sustained little damage.

Sawmill Contract Suit Seeks 3803 36 From Deets

Jacob Hrb sues H H Deets in county court claiming 3803 36 due on an unfilled contract for transferring a sawmill and planer. Deets sold to Levi Erb and D D Erb for 1000 with payments to be 400 and 225 and lumber later, but lumber payments not delivered. Levi and D D Erb allegedly transferred the debt to Jacob Erb. Dimick & Dimick represent the plaintiff.

Spidell Acquitted in Center Assault Case

J W Spidell of Center was acquitted in justice court after a three minute jury deliberation on charges of assault and battery. Frank Warner and another Center resident accused him of beating them, with Dr H Mount noting a broken rib. Defense claimed self defense as provocation and noted Spidell wore rubber boots.

Divorce case filed alleging failure of marriage. The couple wed in Marshalltown Indiana on March 12 1905. The husband claims his wife deserted him in Spokane Washington on June 20 1905 without just cause.

Oregon City will see two new banks, a What National Bank replacing the Commercial Bank and a Security Savings Bank planned by HLS Myers and partners.
