Shipment of Chinook salmon eggs to Rogue River for propagation
One million eight hundred thousand Chinook salmon eggs were sent to R. D. Hune the Rogue River salmon king for propagation. Eggs were collected on Rogue River and brought by Fisch Cul turist H Leighton Kelly of the United States Fisheries Bureau and shipped on the Breakwater via Coos Bay. Eyes are formed and they are about dd days old. They will hatch in about 26 days. There are 19 cages in the shipment and Hume will care for the fry until they reach three to five inches.
