Clackamas County acts to launch its first fair in Gladstone Park October 9 to 11 with a newly elected board to plan exhibits. Richard Scott of Milwaukie serves as president, George Lazelle as vice president, Charles Spence as secretary, and Thomas F. Ryan as treasurer, with county officials and local leaders joining as directors. Captain James P. Shaw chaired the meeting and earned thanks for guiding the effort.

Oregon City men form and capitalize the White Creek Mining Company in Elmore County Idaho near Soldier. The venture opens 60 000 shares at 10 cents each with Captain Rambo preparing a development party. Altoona Steamer Sold Destined for Yukon Service
The steamer Altoona, built 12 years ago as a four hundred ton craft at 22 000, has been sold by the Oregon City Transportation Company for 13 000 to an Alaska firm to operate as a freighter on the Yukon River. The vessel ran daily between Portland and Oregon City and the sale may end that service.
