Sea Cow Collision Disturbs Pleasure Party at Sea

On Tuesday morning L. D. Pitcher, his daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs Charles Rieman sailed the Lulu from Bethune Point toward the inlet with a favorable NW wind when a sudden collision with a large sea cow occurred midship. The animal feeding in five feet of water caused a splashy, wet disruption but no damage aside from soaking the occupants and startling them. The creature, though enormous, is timid and harmless and Bath appears to be a favored feeding ground for sea cows.
