Notice to Waste Tractisrs. The white Teachers Institute of Orange County will meet in Hillsboro, August 24 to 29, 1908. Prof EP Moses at Raleigh Graded Schools will conduct the Institute. Every teacher who expects to teach in Orange County next year must attend this Institute daily.
The notice calls for more teachers for fall schools. American Teachers Association headed by J. L. Gravam seeks applicants. Positions are described as good and being filled daily. Also mentions free staffing of schools and colleges, with reply via mail. Includes other local notices and ads about flour, kidney cure, and county treasurer E A Dickson visiting town.

An ice cream supper benefits the library at Cadwell Institute next Saturday night August 1 at 8 oclock. The evening features an address and short programme followed by serving cream. Mrs. Mary Curtis died at her Lincolnton home on Tuesday night at nearly 90. She was widow of Rev. Mr. Curtis of Hillsboro and mother of N A Curtis, C J Curtis, and Mrs. W S Bynum, among others. Remains moved from Lincolnton to Charlotte then Hillsboro for interment at St Matthew's Episcopal Church. Funeral attended by Judge W A Hoke and Rev C Curtis among others. Dr King’s New Life Pills advertised.
