Condemned Wormley Recaptured After Jail Escape

National Farmers Union Holds Fifth Annual Meeting in Atlanta

Between 500 and 600 members gathered in Atlanta for the fifth annual meeting of the National Farmers Union. Southern states and several Northern and Western states were represented in the event with about a million members nationwide. General Alger Dies After Acute Lung Edema Attack

United States Senator Russell A. Alger of Michigan died at 8 45 am in Washington after an acute attack of edema of the lungs. He had attended the Senate session Tuesday and remained until 4 pm. He is survived by his widow and five children. He previously served as Secretary of War under McKinley and was praised for his Army care and Civil War record. The funeral escort will be a cavalry squadron locally.
