Delegates from Alamance Caswell Chatham Durham Guilford Granville Person and Orange counties meet at Hillsboro August 20 1996 at 1 pm to nominate a Superior Court judge and handle other necessary business.
An old advertisement promotes Botanic Blood Balm as a universal cure for rheumatism catarrh and blood diseases claiming thousands endorse it. It notes a price of one dollar per large and lists Chester D Turner Cum'n Rep Jad Ex Com as endorsers. It also mentions the sudden death of Mrs W E Sleaden of Chapel Til from a congestive chill on the 4th instant.
The heirs announce a sale on September 2 covering four lots totaling 411 acres including the Home tract of 160 acres and the Ward land of 24 acres near Hillsboro. The property features barns, outbuildings, orchards, and good timber with access to Eno river and NC Rail. Terms: one-third cash, one third in six months, one third in two years with interest and title retention until paid.

The People's Party County Convention will meet in Tillsboro on Friday, August 21, to nominate candidates for county officers and conduct other business as needed.
By virtue of a mortgage deed to Lemuel Brock, John te Daniel and Amanda A Daniel mortgaged property in Orange County. The land in Hillsboro will be sold at the contract house door to the highest bidder to satisfy the mortgage and costs. Sale set for Avinst, with terms of six months.
