Mr C's Records mourns founder Everett Caldwell at 81

Everett Caldwell longtime owner of Mr C's Records in Old Towne Orange died of natural causes at 81. His wife Helen 78 now runs the shop with no clear successor. The couple built a legendary collection of over a million records, alphabetized and stored in an Orange warehouse. The store began in 1977 and drew collectors nationwide before facing an uncertain future. See MR C'S PAGE 3.

Katie Wayland Crowned Miss City of Orange

Orange resident Katie Wayland was named Miss City of Orange after years of pageantry. It marked her fourth attempt at the title, following a debut in 2011 when she was 18 and the youngest entrant at the Orange pageant.

Legacy mural by Emigdio Vasquez to join Getty Pacific Standard Time

The Cypress Street mural El Proletariado de Atzlan by Emigdio Vasquez will be included in Getty Center's Pacific Standard Time initiative highlighting the artist and his son who restored it. The 60 foot long 1979 work reflects Orange Barrio history with Aztec imagery and immigrant life. Vasquez died in 2014 at 75 and left a legacy of over 400 oil paintings and 22 murals across Anaheim Santa Ana Fullerton Irvine Placentia and Orange.
