Independence Day parade lights up El Modena with carnival and fireworks
El Modena High School’s Fred Kelly Stadium hosted the 21st annual July 3 celebration. Pony rides inflatables arts and crafts and community food booths created a hometown carnival atmosphere while the Orange Community Master Chorale performed in the evening. Fireworks capped the event with a patriotic salute.

Seniors program rides again with new limits in Villa Park
After a six month suspension funding dried up, Villa Park restarts the Senior Mobility Program with eight one way trips per month up to ten miles each, a five dollar co pay, in partnership with OCTA and California Yellow Cab. Seventy two residents signed up, with 97 currently registered.

Knots of Love marks 300000th donated hat milestone
Knots of Love celebrated sending its 300,000th knitted hat to Breastlink Orange, a breast health center, with doctors, patients, volunteers, and community members gathering to honor the milestone. The Costa Mesa charity delivers hats and blankets to over 580 cancer centers nationwide, aiding comfort and solidarity for patients.
