Restoration of Cypress Street mural by artist’s son
Higgy Vazquez, son of artist Emigdio Vazquez, is restoring the Cypress Street Barrio mural in Old Towne. The 34 year old mural, painted by his father in 1979 on two garage walls, has faded due to water damage and neglect since Chapman University acquired the apartment complex on North Cypress Street.

Undie Run draws Chapman students after finals week
More than 1,000 Chapman University students are expected to strip to their skivvies for the biannual Undie Run an unsanctioned tradition marking finals week. The route goes from campus along Glassell Street to the Plaza traffic circle and back. City crews have fenced Plaza Park after past events.

Orange County transit agency backs 16.7 million for parking structure
The Orange County Transportation Authority secures 16.7 million dollars in state and federal funds to finance a five level parking structure at Santa Fe Depot. The project, costing 20.4 million in total, will be partly funded by the city with 3.7 million, and includes two subterranean and three above ground levels set on Lemon Street and Maple Avenue. Construction expected to begin summer 2014 and finish spring 2015.
