An 8 month old Yorkie mix named Buzz Buzz was found in a park and brought to DC Animal Care with both front legs broken. Vets performed surgery on one leg and splinted the other while officials investigate the cause. Osborn predicts someone will adopt him once available.
Chapman University faces resident opposition as plans to grow enrollment from 8,700 to 11,650 and expand campus size from 58 to 75 acres proceed. A residents group plans lawn signs, a website, and street fair presence to voice concerns, while a representative says to listen. Build-out would run 2016 to 2026 amid more than 100 negative public comments.
Margaret Baker, 98, a former member of the Women's Army Corps, was surprised and feted at a dinner by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 23 at Katella Grill. Baker enlisted in 1942 in Boston and served on Angel Island where she helped process troops and rose to first sergeant.
