Glenwood Patrolman Involved in Mishap
A Glenwood part time police officer Kenneth Heitman 32 was involved in a collision on North Locust Street June 23 with a 1971 Oldsmobile driven by Jeretta Stivers 35. Mrs Stivers and her son Rodney Lee 15 were treated and released. Heitman was southbound and Stivers northbound with a left turn onto Fifth Street. The Stivers car rolled into a yard. No citations issued, investigation continues. No damage estimate available.

Fiery Crash Claims Silver City Driver
A Silver City man, 20, died Sunday night in a fiery truck crash on County Road L-55, south of Treynor. His pickup struck a bridge railing, rolled into a creek, and burst into flames. Treynor fire crews and Meyer Funeral Home assisted.

Sheriff Reports Abandoned Cars and Local Burglary Incidents
Mills County sheriff reports include two abandoned cars found June 22 near Camp Nayall and west of Pacific Junction. A 1970 Chevrolet stolen June 18 or 19 from Council Bluffs was burned with tires, wheels, and motor removed. license plates missing. The other abandoned car near Pacific Junction belonged to Danny Brown, who left it after mechanical trouble. it was vandalized and plates removed. Also reported were home burglaries near Silver City and north of Glenwood with furniture and tool items stolen, and a Bartlett area break in where Ed Jackson’s home was pried open and ransacked but nothing taken.
