New Hampshire Driver Fined After High Speed Chase

Robert C. Wendell of Salem New Hampshire faced a 45 mile pursuit at speeds around 120 mph on I 29 and the 34 expressway. He paid 106.50 per count for improper passing disobeying stop signs speeding reckless driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle plus about 400 in additional Montgomery County fines. Other drivers Roger T Barnett and Glen F Belt were fined 300 each plus costs.

Malvern man dies in asphyxia ruled accidental

Mills County Coroner Dr Rafael Roure ruled the death accidental due to asphyxia after an incident Thursday night. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Mansfield Funeral Home in Malvern with burial in Malvern Cemetery. Survivors include parents Lawrence Jones of Malvern, three sisters Duane Jurgens and Rodney Radford of Glenwood and Carol Benseoter of Malvern, and step brother James Foster of Malvern.

Trial Dates Set for Glenwood Man in Extortion Case

Trial dates are set in district court for a Glenwood man Kenneth Etter who faced malicious threats to extort. Sentencing will be March 18 after Etter pleaded guilty to going armed with intent. On February 14 Harry Wallace of Nishna Cottage Malvern traveled to Murphy Hospital Red Oak and returned. February 16 John Estelle moved from Glenwood State Hospital School to Douglas County Hospital Omaha with Brenda Lewis Charles Slater and Gene Watson from Mineola to Mercy Hospital Council Bluffs after an automobile accident.

Theft and Break-in Reports in Glenwood Area

Police Chief Kenneth L. Mead said a theft occurred at Jim Wells’s apartment above Qizzie's Service Station at 704 S Locust. Approximately $00 was reported missing to fund opening the station, with the loss believed to have happened late Sunday night or early Monday. A separate break-in at a house owned by Mrs. John Moore at 809 N Walnut St was reported. a basement window was broken but nothing reported stolen and the last check was Feb 11.

Rural Crime Meeting Planned in Shenandoah Iowa

Reservations are being taken for a March 4 rural theft and identification meeting in Shenandoah Mills County. Wilbert Bond said the event, sponsored by Farm Bureaus of six Southwest Iowa counties, aims to improve cooperation between farmers law enforcement and rural residents. The Tall Corn Motel Restaurant program will show how farmers and agencies can curb rural crime. County sheriffs and city police chiefs will be hosted by Farm Bureau leaders. Dinner reservations cost 3.25 dollars and are due by February 28 at the Mills County Farm Bureau office in Malvern.

Magistrate Court Fines Listed For Various Offenses

A magistrate court list shows fines and court costs for multiple offenders.
