Obituary notes for Hubbell and Carlson in Mills County area
Funeral services were held for Naamon RB Hubbell 89 of Jasper Arkansas after his death January 26 in Harrison. He farmed in Mills County and worked at Giant Manufacturing Co during WWI. Survived by Mamie Field Hubbell widow and extended family. Alma May Carlson 52 Silver City also mourned with services January 19. Carlson born August 29 1924 Council Bluffs married Wyvern Carlson in 1947. She later ran Alma's Cafe in Silver City and served in local and Eastern Star roles.

Not Guilty Plea Entered in Glenwood Assault Case
A 23 year old Glenwood man Ira Dee Aistrope pled not guilty Tuesday in Magistrate Court to assault and battery. He was released on a $500 signature bond. The case stems from an January 9 incident at the Stanley Bowl where 13 year old David Compton was struck from behind, resulting in a concussion and ruptured eardrum.

Jail Sentence Handed Down in Mills County Case
Dale Linn of Glenwood was found guilty in September of false uttering of a check and was sentenced to 150 days in jail after a parole revocation hearing in District Court. The court ordered a one year Mills County jail term with all but 150 days suspended and placed Linn on two years probation.
