A reader-letter rant denounces federal energy policy as tyranny and promotes a national awakening to debunk what the author calls the fuel shortage fraud. The piece cites U S Geological Survey figures of 500 years petroleum and 300 years natural gas, and lists Iowa political calendars, finance disclosure law, constitutional amendments, and upcoming 1974 election dates. It names dozens of signatories from Glenwood Malvern Hastings Pacific Junction and nearby towns.

Tele Editor's View Sacrifice a Little Fun Now
The energy crisis makes the word sacrifice meaningful beyond theory. We seek instant benefits in work and shopping while government finances are stretched. Urge leaders to set priorities for tax dollars and cut projects that private initiatives can replace.
A Second-Level Energy Crisis Timeline Unfolds
The piece explains how a gasoline and heating fuel shortage risks widespread job losses across petrochemicals, plastics, and related industries. Arthur D. Little projects 15 percent petrochemical cutbacks could cost up to 1.6 million jobs and over $65 billion in value, with plastics alone facing 16 percent cutbacks threatening 560,000 jobs and $23 billion in output.
