Ruddell Brothers Invent Corn Loader in Local Farm Field

The Tag Day proceeds on Saturday October 7 1944 in Georgetown under Mrs J L Lambert to support the CNIB. Born in Acton he moved to Stewarttown, served with the Governor General's Horse Guards and Canadian Armoured Corps. His brother Harry fell at Dieppe. he received the Military Medal May 24 for bravery.

Arthur R Wilson Dies in His 49th Year
The obituary notes Arthur Raymond Wilson died at Guelph General Hospital after a several week illness. Born May 10 1895 in Danville Quebec he lived in Danville Ogdensburg and Georgetown where he retired last February. He married Idella Noble 28 years ago and is survived by his wife three sons a daughter and a grandchild. A funeral was held at his home on Glen Road Georgetown with Rev J E Ostrom officiating and many floral tributes and attendees from Verdun Rebekah Lodge Smith Stone employees and local families.

The first fall meeting on Mortday evening Sept 18 in the Legion Hall drew twenty one attendees. Regent Mrs L J Bell led the session which saw donations of comforts and nursery bags for overseas women and children, plus 50 to the British Children's Clothing Fund and 25 to Georgetown Soldiers' Comforts Fund. Tenth Blood Donor Clinic Held in Georgetown
The tenth Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic was held last Wednesday at the Legion Hall in Georgetown with 81 volunteers, including 61 men and 17 women. Miss Ainslie led the Red Cross team with Miss Miller as technician, while Mrs. Jack Campbell oversaw the clinic assisted by the St. John Ambulance Brigade under Mrs. T. Grieve. Local doctors contributed, refreshments were managed by Mrs. Ann Lawson, and donor registration by Miss Annie Ryan. Donors listed include S. Lyon, W. Hyde, Miss L. Snow, and many others.
