The Lorne Scots won the band contest at the Canadian National Exhibition with 266 points, defeating Port Colborne which scored 255. Georgetown’s band had 28 members in the contest piece while Port Colborne fielded 35. Gold medals went to Victor Carter in cornet and Freda Leece in euphonium, with adjudicators Captains Alt Rens and Scott.

Two Men Hurt In Victoria Street Accident
Martin Cummins and Thomas Soper were struck by a car on Victoria Street near Collage View around midnight Saturday. Cummins suffered two broken bones and severe bruising, while Soper sustained non serious injuries and was later sent home. Provisional Police investigated. Der. Chamberlain attended. Victim Victor Grey Goose allegedly driven the car. both men rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in Guelph.
