Georgetown families visit Miles Park near Erindale for a wholesome afternoon. The park offers elephant rides, monkeys, deer and peacocks, with donkeys kept busy by playful children. Mr Miles funds free access and parking, greeting visitors personally.
A special council meeting was held after the town council chose to discontinue the night constable, a decision it supported earlier. The column indicates continued discussion and notes the matter is continued on page 8.
The Victory Loan Committee outlines a June campaign from June 2 to June 21 for the 1941 loan. Ion County aims to raise 1,050,000 dollars with 850,000 from private subscriptions and the rest from special names. The Special Names Committee led by L. E. Fleck, W. V. Grant, and LeRoy Dale handles large gifts. canvassers under W. H. Long, Frank Petch, A. Beaumont and J. D. Kelly manage other contributions. W. F. Bradley leads publicity for a countywide parade plan with dates set for June 9 in Georgetown and other towns.
A transcription lists funds sent to the Toronto Evening Telegram totaling 766.82 with acknowledgments dated May 21 1946 66. A Norval Junior Farmers and Junior Institute program and dance occurred April 25. Proceeds from a family event on a child’s car raised 62.60 at McNab Street Neighborhood Club 1140. Donations include 23.00 from Provincial Coating Mill Raffie water donated by Bob Eason and 3.00 in memory of a Father who died May 30 1938 25.05 in total.
An article by C Earl Rice describes the Hamilton Bofors plant expanding to seven and a half acres with 600 employees. During war time 160 milling machines operate, 110 turret lathes, and about one thousand guns completed, illustrating capacity for war production and domestic use.
The Cedar Crest Golf Club held a successful opening dinner Friday night with fifty six members attending. Mrs. Doris Hulls served the fine meal and Dr. Best gave an illustrated lecture on his blood bank work. Royal Visit and Georgetown district scenes were also noted.
A quiet wedding in Toronto united SGT D P Crichton in a ceremony noted by observers. Details remain sparse but the nuptials mark a professional milestone for Crichton posted in this edition.
End Kathleen daughter of Mrs J Sokataeee Cook of Georgetown married William Edwin McBride son of Mr and Mrs E J McBride of Caledon in a ceremony held at her home last Saturday May 24.
The 108th Union Church anniversary featured Rev R J Waldie and Rev Capt Norman Rawson. Wishart Campbell, Toronto baritone, sang sermons in song at both services and evening selections highlighted religious themes. Continued on Page 8.
Thieves smashed the display window at the Malina jewellery store on Malin Street in the early hours around 4 45 am and fled in a car with a quantity of jewelry. Chief W G Marshall investigates as locals report the incident renewed merchants demand for a night constable.
A wartime appeal urges adults to buy Victory Bonds to support the armed forces. It stresses duty and privilege, claiming the bonds are the world's best security and urging citizens to start living today as Dominion Day July 1st approaches.

A somber holiday incident in Glen Williams ends in multiple deaths after authorities find bodies in a cellar beneath the main room. Survivors and investigators are awaiting further details as the victims were last seen alive at an unspecified time.
