Blaze Destroys Hi Lo Factory on King Street
A major fire at the Hi Lo factory on King Street Friday afternoon gutted the older building that once housed Clay Products. Fire Chief Erwin Lewis put damage at 75 percent and noted two local youths seen near the site before the blaze. Neighbors aided in reporting the fire as police managed traffic. mopping up began around 9 30 p.m.

Service Held For Victim Of Car Accident
Spencer Adin Roden aged 17 son of Fred Roden of Gupringe died in a car accident. Funeral conducted by Rev Norman Young at Knox Church on May 12 with pallbearers Rick Perry Larry Cox Rob Baldwin Ralph Middlebrook Tis Roden and Kent Yocher. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.
