Council appoints Hawes Building Inspector at 75 percent fees

Widow of former publisher dies in Georgetown

Mrs. Joseph M. Moore widow of the Herald publisher died at her Georgetown home on Sunday April 25 after months of illness She was born Amy Claridge daughter of Jeremiah Claridge and Mary Graham and lived in Georgetown since marriage She leaves a daughter Mrs W R S Douglas Toronto two grandchildren John and Mary Elaine Douglas and sister Miss Roselle Claridge Her husband died in November 1939 Funeral service was held last Tuesday conducted by Rev John Mc Dermid of Brampton Pallbearers included W A Wilson Graham Parnell Francis Thompson R B Foulis and John and William Schreiter Interment at Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown

Engagement announced for Phyllis Isabel Murray

McMillan Named President Of Georgetown Hockey Club

Roh McMillan elevated to the Georgetown Hockey Club presidency at the annual meeting. He succeeds Jack Armstrong who remains on the executive. 1.0.D.E. Blind Tag Day Raises $300

A tag day sponsored by Countess of Strathmore Chapter 1.0.D.E. for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind raised a little over $300. Mrs Frank Benner and Mrs Norman Verdece organized it with junior taggers assisting 1.0.D.E. members in downtown streets and homes.

Stewart Young Named New Store Manager at Robb's Drug

Stewart Young returns to Robb's Drug Store to take over management from Neil McLennan who sold his Timmins store. Young served in the RCAF, married Dorothy Scott of Leeds England, and lived on Charles Street. He worked in Stratford before enrolling at the Ontario College of Pharmacy and joining Darby's Drug Store in Harrow after graduation.

Halton County Exhibit Rules and Prize Schedule

Open to Halton County residents and nearby townships, exhibits must be original and by the exhibitor with one entry per section. Works must be new within two years, clothing within one year. Prize money paid to group treasuries when applicable, judges may discard soiled or old work. Prizes: 1st $1.00, 2nd 60c, with 23rd prize 25c in larger classes.
