Change Plan of Computing Bank Interest in Canada

Georgetown Legion Hosts Highlanders for Veterans Meet
Georgetown Legion entertained the Royal Highlanders of Canada Association and The Canadian Black Watch, veterans of the 13th 42nd and 73rd battalions, at their club rooms. Presidents Rooney and Murphy welcomed guests as Toronto radio stars performed and Highland dances entertained. Bill Green of the Highlanders thanked the Legion and invited a Toronto visit while stressing veteran identification with organizations for movement support. Refreshments were arranged by Mrs Grieve with T Grieves and Dave Rose coordinating.

The Georgetown Branch Mission to the Lepers held its annual meeting on Friday March 3. Halton firm wins defence contract for gas mask parts
Ontario Metal Specialties of Bronte Halton County received a National Defence contract to manufacture canister parts for ten thousand gas masks. About a dozen workers prepare dies with a short assembly run to follow. No extra staff will be hired and the contract price is not yet announced.

The Georgetown Lions Club met at 6 30 Monday in the McGibbon Hotel dining room with Chief Mc Clure presiding. Delegates Dr. Jackson and D Brill were elected to District A convention in June. Captain Innis of the Ratepayers Association of Canada will speak April 3. The carnival balance was reported satisfactory and juvenile hockey was discussed. Planned events include a John Rockwood concert March 30 and a church parade the Sunday after Easter at St George's.
