Town Council met Tuesday evening with Reeve Genre and Councillors in attendance. The reading room and lobby of the Public Library will be painted by Gordon Hills for 65 dollars and wired by W. C Anthony for 180 dollars. The treasurer will pay numerous accounts totaling several dollars for various services and supplies. The meeting adjourned to March 12 at 8 pm.

Georgetown Lions Club met at McGibbon Hotel with Chief Kelly presiding. Minutes by secretary H J Meldmann. McWhirter reported on club sponsored midget hockey pairing Georgetown and Hanover with a potential Friday game at Hanover and a trip to Copper Cliff if victorious. W W Grant outlined May 1 fundraiser drawing for hockey costs with prizes a silver fox fur and a mixmaster. Donations were pledged to Legion campaign Salvation Army and Knights of Columbus Army Huts collection. Meeting adjourned after National Anthem.

The United Church Tennis Club young people performed Here Comes the Prince at Gregory Theatre before a full house. The three acts depict the Halliday family awaiting a prince visit. Cast included Kath leen Lyons Mary Feller Madeleine Er win and others. Mrs Annie B Overend directed and received a bouquet. Piano solos and duets by Alva Cripps and Nora Cleaves complemented the show.

Esquesing Township Council met in Stewarttown with Reeve and five councillors present. The auditors report as of December 31, 1839 showed a surplus. various payments were approved including road sheets, utilities, and relief accounts. Relief disbursements were set at 269.75 and relief program to be discontinued after April 1, 1940. auditors Jenkins and Hardy to return for 1940. The meeting adjourned to April 1 at 1 30 pm.
