William G Reed Dies After Lightning Tragedy at Farm
William G Reed 70 died Monday at his Chinguacousy Township farm after weeks of illness following barns burning and a lightning shock that affected him. Survived by widow Lavina, two sons William and Harold, daughter Elizabeth, and two other children at home. Rev J L Gelf conducted a private service, with pallbearers William McClure James Eccles Albert Breadner Hessie Reed Everett Martin and Arthur Reed. Interment was in Hulcrest Cemetery Norval.

Edward McWhirter dies long-time Georgetown leader
Edward McWhirter former Mill Superintendent and active club member died in Hamilton General Hospital after a brief illness at 76. A charter Lions Club member and cemetery board chair he served Georgetown for decades in community, church and fraternal roles. He leaves two daughters and a grandson with brothers and sisters across Canada and the United States. Funeral services were held at Knox Presbyterian with interment in Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.
