Mountainview Bridge Debate Sparks Town Council Forum
The Mountainview bridge issue dominated a council meeting with two consulting engineers present. Residents Emmerson and Majuery urged a suitable bridge with sidewalk, not a luxury, and hoped for a no cost solution similar to Esquesing’s Glen Williams bridge, while officials warned road status and county budget constraints could delay any free bridge. New cost sharing details emerged from engineer Tomlinson, who suggested a four lane design might be needed due to grade and truck traffic, with town costs possibly 3 to 8 percent depending on county decisions.
