Town Council approves pavement by law readings and dog by law
A special town council meeting in the Coronent Chamber saw first and second readings for a pavement by law on John McNabb Emery and King Streets under a local improvement plan. Lorne Scots Band Wins Class A Prize at Waterloo Festival
The Lorne Scots Regimental Band of Georgetown won first prize in Class A at the Waterloo Musical Festival, defeating the Chatham Kitties who had dominated for five years. Bandmaster Perrott and members were praised for hours of practice and civic pride, with individual victors in cornet, saxophone, and clarinet contests and a grateful town reception on return.

Severe storm disrupts Erin district and fatality reported
An electric storm struck the Erin district north of the village on Thursday night. Lightning disabled the Erin telephone exchange for two hours. A farm hand, Peter Binnie, was knocked down when lightning entered a house, burning curtains at Angus McLechan and destroying a telephone at Fred White's home. The body of William Lang, 43, was found in Erin Township on a lot at 1888 St Clair Ave West, Toronto. Corner Dr J P F Williams ruled an inquest unnecessary. Rev George H Thomas of Kitchener will join Erin United Church with induction on June 30 and duties starting July 31.

Boston Church Marks 118th Anniversary
Boston Presbyterian Church in Esauesing township celebrated its 28th anniversary with 11 am and 7 pm services. Rev J R Watts of Queen's University preached, assisted by Rev B F Andrew. The church filled, with the oldest member Mrs Isabel Wooding turning 89. A garden party at John Irving’s home featured Russ Creighton and Canadian Mountaineers.
