Georgetown Plans Vote On Sewage System This Fall
The Georgetown council at a special meeting approved holding a fall vote on a new sewage system. Council heard a report by Cc R Blagey on the proposed plant near Quedervale Farm and a lower John St pump with an estimated cost of $195,000. Financing options include a tax charge local improvement or a sewer rental. The Medical Officer of Health will publish articles and maps will be released to help property owners understand the project. Nearly 900 worshipers attend the 107th anniversary services at Norval Presbyterian Church on Sunday June 2. Dr A C Cochrane of Port Credit guest preacher delivered two sermons. Special music featured solos by Ronald Stewart of Toronto with Mrs Hunter at the organ as the choir sang. The church was full at both services.

Georgetown greets six more servicemen back from overseas Ed Francis Jim Sargent Geo Greensword Jim Emerson George Walker and Rev Moody. Cpl Eddie Francis a former Lorne Scots sergeant was a German POW during Dieppe retreat and recounts harsh conditions. Sargent served with 1st Canadian Paratroop Battalion and was wounded twice after D Day.
