Remembrance Service at Glen Cemetery Draws Crowd
A large crowd attended the tenth annual remembrance service at Glen Cemetery on Father’s Day. Master of ceremonies Jim Jones praised the Cemetery Board and caretakers, urged action on the riverbank landslide, and noted fallen pines along the river. Georgetown band accompanied choirs from St Alban’s and United Church, with solos by Joyce McLean and Mrs Alf. Spence on piano. Rev Jan Fleming gave a fitting homily, post and reveille were played by Jim Fiddler, and God Save the Queen closed the service. Various attendees traveled from London, Toronto, Guelph, and other towns for the event.
