Neighbour Dob Harris and Ken Murray rushed to extinguish with an extinguisher as Georgetown brigade responded. water and smoke caused extra damage. The incident disrupted residents attending a village school picnic.

Members of the Legion and the Legion W A paraded in Greenwood Cemetery for Decoration Day. The Home Scots Band led the parade and wreaths were laid to honor fallen in World War I II and Korea. Archdeacon Thompson conducted the service. Names of deceased WWI and WWII and Korea Veterans were read by Shepherd Clark and McCartney. The Auxiliary and Fire Brigade also joined the march.

Three Omagh Youths Hurt in Sideroad Crash
Three Omagh youths were injured when an overturned car on a sideroad near Ashyprove Sunday left two occupants trapped. Larne Laan 27 and Clifford Steeves 16 were freed by constables James McNiven and Howard Bunn. Steeves sustained head cuts. Laan had internal injuries. Hugh LeRiche 23 was found nearby with a broken right leg. All were transported to Guelph General Hospital.
