Women's Institute Sets Park Booth Operation For Season
The Georgetown Women's Institute met June 2 at the Public Library. They will adopt a British family, send parcels, and skip July and August meetings. A park booth under the grandstand, bought from Mr. Thor Warnes, will fundraise during Milton Georgetown games. Delegates to the Guelph convention were named, petunias planned for the War Memorial, and a trip South lecture was enjoyed.

Longtime Glen Williams resident Fred Norton dies at 86
Fred William Norton a Glen Williams resident for fifty years died at his home on Wednesday June 9 after a six week illness from a stroke. He was born in 1867 in Churchville the son of James Norton and Mary Jane Allen. Norton worked as an engineer and spinner at Beaumont Knitting Mills and belonged to the Orange Lodge since age sixteen. He is survived by his wife Delilia Dobbie and eight children Fred Katherine Roy Thomas Winnifred Alexander Allan Elizabeth, plus two sons predeceased. Interment was atGrovenwood Cemetery Georgetown with Black Knights pallbearers and Rev J Dunlop presiding.

Two Limehouse showers honor upcoming brides and hosts
In Limehouse Memorial Hall two showers were held for Miss Margaret Kirkpatrick and Mr John Foster before their Saturday wedding. A larger shower for Mr and Mrs Harold Brown, newlyweds, featured gifts and remarks. Green Cross Insecticides provided educational films for gardeners, and literature was distributed. Sympathy extended to the Gordon family on Mr William J Hall’s death.
