A Georgetown woman Mrs James Hilton Ford 33 was struck while crossing a highway near Camp Norval Corner Cupboard in a two vehicle collision. She died after being taken to Peel Memorial Hospital and passing away the following morning. The incident involved Manley Chew driving a eastbound car.

Georgetown Anglers and Hunters Association hosted public schoolboys from Wrigglesworth School at Slickery Falls CR Groves Hespeler district. Principal William Kinrade spoke on fire precautions while county game warden Dudley Hitchows explained wildlife conservation rules. The visit included films on fishing and forest fires, chocolate milk and box lunches, followed by a shooting match. Murray Ross Kent Riddall and Clinton Mandy won the top prizes after a shoot-off.

Rev G G Lockhart is a commissioner at the Presbyterian General Assembly in Toronto staying at Knox College. Mrs R D Hendry of Galt attended Halton District Annual meeting at Ashgrove last Wednesday. Mr Ronald Litchfield of Huntsville spent weekend with Donald Lawson in Stewarttown. Donald left for a position with Toronto Elevators. A birthday party marked Mary Jane Ward’s eighth, with several young guests. Miss Freda Herbert and friends Miss Linda Mahon and Miss Jeasie Rideout are off on a three week bus trip in the United States. The Lawrs family spent the weekend at Victoria Harbour aboard the Mayflower and visited Spring Water Park near Midhurst. Miss Laura Scott will leave next week to visit western Canada with her sister in Milton. They plan to travel via train to Victoria Vancouver and Chilliwack and then Portland Oregon.
