A pair of severe electrical storms struck Georgetown last week causing widespread damage. Lightning and wind toppled trees, damaged homes, knocked out hydro power, and disrupted phone lines from Mountainview Road to Glen Williams. Notable incidents included injuries to Loy Desaulniers’ eyes from a bright flash and shattered windows, while hydro transformers were struck near Ed Peters and several maple trees fell blocking traffic.

A water main extension of 275 feet on lower Main Street to Beaver plant estimated at 275. Citizens complain of road drainage into homes on Main and Guelph Streets. Mr Foster seeks garage closer to sideline than by-law allows.

Norval Bible Society elects officers for year
The Norval branch of the Upper Canada Bible Society met at the Presbyterian Church. Officers chosen include President Mrs Sam McClure Secretary Mr Earl Wilson and Treasurer Mrs J Maxwell.
