Winter Carols From Local School and Church Choirs
Public school choirs and a junior church choir fill the week with one hour carolling programs at St John United Church. Park Public School opened the series on Tuesday with Harrison Public School following Wednesday and Chapel Street Public School Thursday. The final act comes from Wrigglenworth Public School Monday. Harrison Teacher Association Adopts Orphan for year
At a pre Christmas meeting the Harrison Teacher Parent Association raised funds to sponsor a child through Save the Children Fund for one year. The group will adopt an unnamed child and exchange letters read to students. Grade 6 7 and 8 led carols while Grade 4 performed a Christmas story combined with carols. Reverend Bruce Woods spoke on the Christmas message. Songs were led by Milas Scarlett Mrs. Cowan and Mr K Harrison.

Week's Two Accidents Leave No Injuries and $1000 Damage
Police report two weekday crashes with no injuries. At Main and Ontario Street a 1964 Valiant driven by Harry Hottoms collided with a 1940 Pontiac driven by Donald James McLean around 1.15 pm, causing about $120 and $80 damage respectively. Friday on Guelph Street a 1984 Oldsmobile hit from behind a 1964 Ford driven by Donald Gordon Green, totaling roughly $100 for the Green car and $50 for Haine, Investigating Det. William Kosslay stated the collision at 4.25 pm.

Georgetown Rover Clubhouse to Display Global Fireplace

Plan Five Outdoor Skating Rinks Ready for Weekend
Town workmen opened five outdoor rinks around the community with permanent water lines at Harrison and Kennedy to ease flooding. Councilor William Smith expects at least one rink to be usable tonight and all five by the weekend if temperatures stay below freezing.
