A Q00 watt Canadian station at Hornby Ontario will open early on Christmas Day with announcements and a morning program. The site plans include a program schedule around 8 or 10 am and broadcasts are funded by corporate financing with commercial limits in the budget.
Norval and Stewarttown held a parish social on Monday November 29. Younger members attended after an evening of games and music and danced late into the night. The Terre Colts branch of the U. S. reported an enjoyable evening. The annual Christmas dance of St Paul’s will be announced soon.
A Georgetown letter to the editor questions 29 months of beer and wine spending totaling about 67 388 dollars against town needs. The author cites municipal sewerage health needs and a proposed chlorination plant and school addition as unaffordable, urging welfare considerations.

William Willmott and J E Whitelock also spoke at the Hatton Milk Producers’ Association gathering.
Acton municipal offices were filled by acclamation with reeve, councilors, school board members and a public utilities committee listed as elected. A. G. Clarridge returned from hospital in Guelph and health improving. Local social notes mention visitors, a recovery from surgery, and a tarantula incident described in a local column.

Fifteen marksmen from Toronto competed at the Norval rifle range on Monday night. Nurse achieved three perfect scores in the aggregate and finally beat Lisk after a 10 shot shoot off in the Gold Button contest. Nurse also led the third league with a score of 782 out of 860 as the team plans travel to Guelph next Monday for competition.
Directors and Secretary announce they can pay fair prize winners in full after deliberation and grants from the Department of Agriculture. Various visitors are noted including Mr and Mrs Alfred Porter and family with Mires, and extended family visits in Welland and Toronto.
