Four men tried for Milton fair day pocket picking
George Thompson aliss Fenton Samuel Miller alias Green Geo Hicks and Frank Carter faced trial before Judge Elliott on charges of pocket picking at Milton fair. Crown attorney Dick prosecuted with Toronto and Hamilton lawyers defending. Carter testified he was hired to bring the group to the fair and denied knowledge of money found in a car seat cushion.

Death of Rev J H McArthur Former Ontario Minister
The death of Rev Dr J H McArthur of Moffatt formerly of Norval occurred November 18. He spent early ministry in Japan as a missionary and later served in Ontario at Erin Norval circuits. He leaves a widow and five children. A private funeral was held at his home, followed by a public service at Kilbride Methodist Church. Many ministers attended and eulogies were given by prominent clergy. Interment was at Cartidle Cemetery. An old proverb notes charity over neighbour’s faults.

The annual High School Concert and Commencement Exercises in the town hall drew full crowds Friday and Thursday. The boys and girls choirs delivered strong renditions while the wand drill and dances impressed attendees. Mrs Davidson Miss Moll Mrs Ross and Mrs Bradley led the ladies choir with solid performances alongside Miss Giuseppe Willson's Vocal solos. Farmer's Cow Killed in Auto Collision Case
Elgin Dudgeon of Whittington struck and killed Richard Sherwin's cow on Prince of Wales road last July after a new fence displaced field boundaries. Sherwin valued the cow at 100 dollars. Dudgeon's car needed 96 dollars in repairs. Dudgeon sued and won full costs. The trial in Orangeville district marked a first under a Drury government law.

Robbers Break into G T R Station Assaulting Safe
Milton Robert Jackson, a Napanee farmer, recalls Milton friends as burglars struck the G T R station early Sunday. They unlocked the waiting room, battered the agent J E Bell office, opened a safe hole, and stole a typewriter rifle and a shotgun. Detectives from the provincial force and G T R were investigating with local suspects under suspicion.
