Halton County voters choose Jack McDermid of Georgetown as their sixth older Boys Parliament representative in Toronto December 27 to 31. he won by 13 votes over Alvin Gamble of Acton.

Bert D Angelo, once known for bootlegging around Hamilt on and Oakville, received a four year term at Kings ton Penitentiary for his role in the poison alcohol epidemic of last summer. Justice Rose said mercy recommended by the jury could not overturn the law, noting moral guilt and financial motive in using dangerous distilled alcohol. The decision starts from yesterday with no credit for custody prior to trial. the Ontario Temperance Act framed his guilt while the sentence aims to set an example. Also noted, James Horton was honorably acquitted of a serious offense at the close of the Fair Assizes.
G L Harrison of Esquesing Township suffered a serious accident when his car, left in gear, started as he cranked it. It ran over his leg, breaking both bones below the knee. Beef cattle entries are set for the Guelph Fair with strong showings in Shorthorns Herefords and Angus. Judges include J D Brien Ridgetown W H Hanter Orangeville and W C Paton Queenston. Entries from Saskatchewan and Manitoba boost the beef section.
