Arthur Bradley Lacrosse Star Dies in Chicago
Arthur Bradley, famed Aetna lacrosse team member and Georgetown athlete, died suddenly in Chicago Milton on August 5. Survived by four sons and three daughters, two sisters, and many relatives, his funeral was held in Toronto with pallbearers from the Sheran Funeral Parlour. Interment followed at St Margaret's Cemetery in West Hall.

Esquesing Council Notes August Meeting Tactics
The Esquesing council discussed a petition from four ratepayers demanding street policing for the northern Dalton area and asked Toronto for police protection. Georgetown Council was asked to confirm the township will pay 900 dollars yearly plus 50 for fire calls if the area forms. The clerk was told to note delays on river reports to Glen Williams. A by law to raise the tax collector and clerk salaries will be prepared. A deputation for police protection in Glen Williams addressed the meeting. Accounts were approved for Roads 5454 dollars Ontario Hospital Woodstock 46 dollars and fence viewers fees 12 dollars. A July 23 special meeting granted 200 dollars to the Esquesing Agricultural Society for a Georgetown Park building. The road superintendent was instructed to fix a bridge on Lot 4 concessions 4 and 5. A Green Cram Weed Spray Co representative was to visit about failing to kill wild carrot on township roads.

A farewell party for Mr and Mrs Alf Collins was held Saturday with three of Mrs Collins sisters from Toronto present. The couple sails next Wednesday aboard the S S Ascania from Montreal for England France and Switzerland for several months. They will visit Mrs Collins aunts and Mr Collins brother in Wales before returning. Cpl and Mrs Bruce Collins and daughter Patricia also said goodbye as he heads to Wainwright Alberta after years at Camp Borden.

Joseph Bird a Norval native died Friday at his Dundas home and was buried Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery after a funeral service. He was survived by Ada Soules his wife four brothers and a sister and had worked in Norval Grimsby Smithville Milton and Hamilton. Pallbearers were six nephews.

Elizabeth Presswood dies at 68 in Glen Williams
Elizabeth Walker Presswood died at her 8th Line home on August 4 in her 69th year. A Lancashire native, she and husband William moved from Norval to Glen Williams then Sprucedale before settling on their Sth Line Farm. Surviving are her husband two children Edna Spence and Jack, a brother Robert Walker and three sisters. Archdeacon Thompson led the funeral at McClure Funeral Home. pallbearers included Picott Bat kin and Spence. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.
