His Last Plunge A German Man Found Drowned in Bay
The body of Fred Winkelman was recovered this morning near the pipe factory after he disappeared last evening between 9 and 10. Coroner’s inquiry found no clear cause, but drowning is suspected. Winkelmann, born in Prussia on May 17, 1866, resided in Olympia and left a $2000 Pacific Mutual Life policy to his heirs. He was connected to the Columbia Engine Co and the Foresters lodge and will be buried with arrangements set by local groups. The funeral time is to be announced.
