Farmers Warehouse choice Tacoma for grain trade

The Farmers Warehouse association of eastern Washington and northern Idaho met at Garfield Whitman county and recommended locating a large warehouse at Tacoma citing Tacoma as a grain outlet and sea cargo hub while Seattle lacks a grain market. Also announced new hires at the agricultural college Pullman J P Hendricks and Geo H Watt with regents adopting disciplinary measures at the college and other local news including a jail smallpox quarantine and planned Seattle world’s fair preparations.

London December 29 reports that Mrs Langtry is not currently in imminent danger of death.

Train and Engine Collision Kills Four in Cutcaco Crossing

At the crossing of the Fort Wayne road and Forty-seventh street four people were killed and twice as many injured when a locomotive struck a crowded street car. The engineer and two crossing watchmen were arrested. Names include George Blaha and Archibald McAndrews among the deceased and two unknown victims. The car, packed with passengers, could not escape as frost on windows obscured view. The engine dragged the car 150 yards.
