Blue Ridge Association Meets in Old Fort
The Old Fort Baptist Church hosts the Blue Ridge Association gathering on September 30 and October 1. This second annual meeting is expected to attract many attendees with music arranged by Rev. J. E. Ingle. Officers include moderator W. T. Morgan of Marion, vice moderator C. L. Taylor, clerk Leroy Silvers, and treasurer H. R. Early. The W. M. A. will hold its annual meeting at the same time.

Dedication of Oakdale Presbyterian Church Near Old Fort
The Oakdale Presbyterian Church near Old Fort holds dedicatory services next Sunday September 28 with morning and afternoon sessions and a noon meal on the grounds. Former pastors Rev J W Foster from Cooleemee NC and Rev J L McBride from Statesville will preach. all work was done by local volunteers and the church is paid for with no offering requested beyond expenses and furnishings.

In Oshawa Ontario David Crawford grows strawberries large enough for a dessert course. One berry measured two and a half inches both across and long among many nearly as big.
