Wolf-Dog Hybrid Killed Near Catawba Falls
A red low built dog like animal killed near Catawba Falls last week was brought to Old Fort. It had soft fur and small ears and resembled a cross breed possibly part dog and part wolf. A ranger in Yancey county killed a similar animal last year and sent its body to New Jersey. Needlecraft Club Meets Hostess Mrs Henry C Fisher welcomed members at her home on Wednesday for a froz n salad luncheon with attendees from Marion and Old Fort.

A school talent minstrel Tuesday night delighted a large audience. Interlocutor Robert Bryson and end men Joe Lee Burgin Norriss Henssley Russell Oates and J R Harris Jr drew laughter. Singers Merill Kanipe Woodrow Harris Guy Grant Mr Smithey Gaston Rhinehardt and J R Harris Jr impressed. The show raised a neat sum for the project.
