Mrs Crippen Hosts Fort Worth Woman's Club Meeting

Mrs Amos Crippen entertained the Old Fort Woman's Club at her Main street home. President Lula Sandlin led a business session stressing welfare fund needs and noting a donated supplies room in the Bradley building. Members and guests enjoyed a social hour with a frozen salad course.

Funeral Sunday for Marguerite Gilliam at Hominy Baptist

Little Marguerite Gilliam seven, daughter of Mr and Mrs J Y Gilliam of Candler, died Saturday night after a brief illness. Surviving parents three brothers Noah West Asheville Walter Seattle Edwin Candler. two sisters Mrs H H Tate Atlanta and Evelyn Gilliam Candler. Funeral at Hominy Baptist Church Sunday 3 pm led by Rev Bennett.

Former Old Fort Girl Marries in New York

Miss Jennie Gibson 23 daughter of Charles and Myrina Gibson of Old Fort N C and Da vid Pierson 35 of Morristown N J obtained a license to wed in New York City. The couple said they would marry today by the city clerk. Miss Gibson lists Greystone Park N J as her address. Pierson was born in Morristown and is the son of George and Annie Pierson.

Bridge Party Honoring Raleigh Visitor at Mashburn Home

Miss Helen Watkins of Raleigh visited her cousin Mrs. P H Mashburn inspiring a bridge party hosted by Mrs. Hart Taylor at the Mashburn residence Saturday night. Three tables featured early spring flowers and potted plants with Mrs Harry Ditmore of Marion winning top score and a perfume bottle as prize. Religious Education and Quarterly Conference At South OM Church

The M E Church South Om holds Sunday services March 16 with Sunday School at 10 a m and preaching at 11 a m on the topic Religious Education. Epworth League meets at 6 45 p m with preaching at 7 30 p m led by Rev E W Fox who presides Marion District and conducts the second quarterly conference afterward. Everyone is invited to attend all services.
