Bon Marche Plans Anniversary Banquet for Fortieth Second Year

Seventeen Die From Heat in Southwest U S

Seventeen deaths occurred in a heat wave across the southwestern United States as temperatures ranged from 90 to 118 degrees. Catawba Tannery Not to Be Rebuilt Soon in Old Fort

The Catawba Tannery will not be rebuilt until business improves. Old Fort plant superintendent G Bistline and tannery official Norton of Ridgeway, Pa. discuss the decision after the fire destroyed the plant. The loss may force families to relocate as jobs shift to other plants or new fields. The tannery, insured for 250000.70 dollars, was one of United States Leather Co.'s largest facilities.
