A Charlotte Episcopal church group led by Mr. Whidder sent boys to Camp Elliott on Monday with extended stays for some. New arrivals come from Washington and Ma in North Carolina. Sixty boys spent the Fourth at Chimney Rock and reported a delightful trip. attendance shows a satisfactory rise.

Funeral Services for Garland Bryson
Funeral services for Garland F. Bryson who died Monday afternoon were held at the Baptist church. Bryson, an employee of Union Tanning Company, belonged to the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics and the Old Fort Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife and three children Ina May Violet and Garland Bryson Jr five sisters and one brother. The Rev L J Ingle Rev M E Hansel and Rev J A Rhinehardt conducted the services with Old Fort Fire Department and Junior Order members assisting. Interment followed in Old Fort cemetery.

Auburn New York Cat Eye Annie Lilian McDowell a forty eight year old notorious burglar escaped from the Auburn women's prison by sawing through her cell door and slipping over the walls. Authorities widened the search across the state while recalling her prior escape using improvised tools and a blanket rope to flee unseen.
