The Gleaners Sunday School class met at Mrs. George Moore's Main Street home for the first meeting of the year. Officers elected include Mrs. G E Moore president and Miss Marie Sabom secretary treasurer. Rev J L Rayle and Cc F Noblitt attended. about twenty five members present.

Old Fort Organizes 88th Hi Y Club at High School

A Hi Y Club is organized at Old Fort School under Mr C A Witherspoon. Van Hughes is elected president Carl Rock vice president. It is the 88th Hi Y in the state with about 1400 boys enrolled. The group aims to build Christian character through service and clean habits. Theodore Roosevelt quote emphasizes early work with boys.

Claud Watkins Dies in Raleigh Funeral Held

Funeral services for Claud Watkins of Raleigh who died Saturday were held in Raleigh last Sunday. Surviving are his widow formerly Nora Bell McCandless of Old Fort and seven children. Cousin Mrs P H Mashburn attended the services.
